Fall barn
cleaning.
Fall is a great
time to clean out all those
hay filled corners.
Pick up any pallets, rake
under them, and try to get
all of the old hay out of
the barn, so you are ready
for your brand new, fresh,
fall hay delivery!
Rearranging
pens.
We leave the barn
pens larger in the summer so
more animals can come lay in
front of the fans. In
the fall, we make those
spaces small again, so the
alpacas will come in to get
out of the wind, or to
sleep, but there's not
enough space to allow them a
barn-potty!
Keep up with your
worming.
It's
always good to be very
consistent with your worming
practices. Follow your
vet's instructions, and even
though it's getting cooler,
don't think your worm
problems are gone. If
it's not freezing, worms are
around!

PRODUCTS |
It's time to get that
fiber made into yarn!
If you
haven't done it yet, take
your spring shearing blanket
fiber to the nearest
mini-mill and have them
process it into yarn.
Don't be surprised if it
takes a while to get it
back, they tend to be pretty
backed up most of the time.
Once you have the yarn,
what do you do with it?
Once you get all your
yarn, you can't stop
there! You need to
wind it into balls or
skeins so it is ready to
knit, or to sell at the
fall shows.
Winding it is a good job
for a child on those
cool fall evenings in
front of the TV!

IT'S FALL!! |
| PHA
Accoyo Stratosphere, coming back to
Ohio!
Now is the time to be planning those
last breedings of the year. PHA
Accoyo Stratosphere goes to Oregon for
the summer and will be back here in Ohio
this fall. His cria are awesome,
and we are all looking forward to him
coming back to breed to all those girls
who have been waiting for him!! He
is a full Accoyo Medium fawn out of
Accoyo Legacy. What genetics!!
It's been a long
hard summer!! We're ready for
fall!
Now
is also the time to make sure all those
summer cria are shorn. If you are
planning on showing them in the spring,
it is good to get off all those cria
tips! This will allow the
undamaged fiber underneath to show in
the spring to the best of its ability!

SHOW SEASON |
| Here
comes the fall show season!
You need to begin thinking of the
fall show season way before fall.
Most September shows close sometime
in August, so don't miss out on
them. For us, we tend to go to
October and November shows, so with
the advent of the kids going back to
school, comes the decisions of what
shows we will be going to this year.
If we've got some spectacular up and
coming boys, we make sure we go to
as many shows as we can to get the
news out on them!
