We are a
family who believes in giving each puppy their best
chance at becoming a beloved pet. We make sure they are
healthy, happy and well adjusted. Our dogs, AKC and CKC
registered Goldens, Doodles and
Poodles, are family pets. They all have great
personalities, are very healthy, and love to run and
play with our 3 children (18, 16, and 12 years old).
Their puppies live their
first 7-8 weeks in our home - so we can keep an eye, and
ear, out for anything they need! They are held
often, even before their eyes are open, to establish a
trust relationship with humans, and a bond that will
serve them for the rest of their lives. They are
raised in our house, not in a kennel, so are familiar
with the sounds of a home: vacuums, pots and pans,
doorbells, other dogs (goldens, doodles, poodles, and even a
cairn terrier), children, visitors, televisions, and all
the other sounds and smells of home.
We
begin preparing our puppies very early for their futures
as family pets. We use a program of Neurological
Stimulation that the US Military uses in their canine
program. It involves a series of stimulations done
to puppies every day from the time they are 3 days old
until they are 16 days old. It has been shown to
improve their Cardio Vascular performance, gives them
better tolerance to stress, and a greater resistance to
disease. I've added a webpage that goes into the
program in detail if you'd like more information.
The
next step in their preparation is socialization. Because
dogs have a relatively narrow window of opportunity for
socialization, starting at approximately 3 weeks, peaking at 6-8
weeks, and diminishing by 12 weeks, we feel it is very
important for us to begin their socialization training. As part of this, we give them many "new" experiences:
various textures to walk on, various bowls to eat out
of, various toys to play with, trimming toenails,
touching teeth, giving baths, and we let them play in
various pens in different parts of the house. Because of this training, we
believe they will be much more flexible and better
adjusted pets.
We
provide worming, shots and vet care as needed for the
healthiest puppies possible, and provide those records
to their family when adopted. The puppies are
weighed regularly, to head off any problems early.
When
they are ready to go home with their new family, they
will have a sample of their puppy food, and a blanket that smells like
their Littermates, to comfort them.
The
puppies come with CKC litter registration paperwork, so
they can be registered as soon as they go home.
We
offer full health guarantees, certify that there are no
hip dysplasia cases in their parents, and offer a
warranty against congenital or hereditary abnormalities.

DOODLE CONTRACT

The Family Doodle Puppy Agreement
This agreement, dated _______________, is made and
entered into by and between The Family Doodle
(seller), and _____________________________________
(buyer), for the purpose of setting forth the terms
and conditions of purchase by the Buyer of a
CKC Doodle from the litter whelped
on ____________ and out of ________ and ___________.
For $_______, the Seller agrees to sell and the
Buyer agrees to purchase a female___ , male___
companion puppy/dog from the litter described above
subject to the following terms and conditions.
A deposit of $250 is being left to reserve
the puppy/dog.
1.
The above-described puppy/dog is sold as a pet and
family companion.
2.
Seller warrants that the above-described puppy/dog
is a CKC
Doodle registerable with the Continental Kennel Club
and application will be provided to buyer.
3.
Seller warrants that the above-described puppy/dog
is in good health and has received age appropriate
vaccination(s) and worming(s) at the time Buyer
assumes ownership. Seller will provide to buyer all
vaccination and worming records. Buyer agrees to
have puppy examined by a licensed Veterinarian
within two (2) days (not including weekends and
holidays) of receipt of puppy/dog.
4.
If, as a result of the buyer's examination, the
Veterinarian determines that the puppy/dog is not in
good health then the Buyer shall elect to keep the
puppy/dog or return the puppy/dog to the Seller for
a refund. If the Buyer elects to return the puppy,
Buyer shall, within 5 days after the date of the
signing of this contract, send to Seller a written
Veterinarian's certificate stating that the
puppy/dog was in ill health when examined. Upon
receipt by Seller of said certificate, Buyer shall
be obligated to return the puppy/dog to Seller at
Buyers expense. Puppy/dog shall be returned in the
same manner in which it was picked up, unless Seller
agrees to an alternate mode of transportation. Upon
receipt of the puppy/dog, the Seller shall be
obligated to refund all money received from Buyer
toward the purchase price of the puppy/dog, and
further performance under this contract shall be
null and void. If, prior to receipt of puppy/dog, as
a result of the Seller's inspection, it is found
that the puppy is ill, Seller will notify buyer
immediately and the decision to still purchase or
cancel the purchase is up to the Buyer.
5.
Seller warrants that if the puppy/dog develops
moderate or severe hip dysplasia verified by OFA
(Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) within 18 months
from the date of birth, Buyer may return the
puppy/dog to Seller and will receive a replacement
puppy/dog of like quality from the next available
litter, as long as food verification (see below) is
satisfied. If Buyer elects to keep the puppy/dog,
Seller will refund half the purchase price upon
receipt of evidence from OFA.
Buyer agrees
to send OFA evaluation of the puppy/dog to Seller
before any refund is given. OFA evaluation is the
only acceptable proof of hip dysplasia. In either
situation, Buyer must also provide proof that the
puppy was fed a high quality (first ingredient is
some type of meat) LARGE BREED puppy food for at
least its first 9 months.
If hip dysplasia is suspected before the 9
month point, puppy must still be on the high quality
LARGE BREED puppy food.
Feeding regular puppy food (not Large Breed),
or low quality puppy food (first ingredient is not a
type of meat) voids this warranty.
6.
If a replacement puppy/dog is warranted, Buyer and
Seller shall make prompt arrangements within 10 days
of receipt of OFA evaluation for return of the
puppy/dog sold herein to Seller's place of business
and the Buyer will then be placed on a waiting list
for the next available litter. Buyer shall be
responsible for taking good and reasonable care of
the puppy/dog until Seller receives it. Puppy/dog
shall be returned in the same manner in which it was
picked up, unless Seller agrees to an alternate mode
of transportation. Costs and related expenses of
returning the puppy/dog to Seller shall be the
obligation of the Buyer.
7.
Seller warrants that the above-described puppy/dog
will be free from any congenital or hereditary
abnormalities that would prevent it from being a
good pet and companion for a period of one (1) year.
If the puppy/dog is deemed unsuitable for reasons
described above, evidence of genetic issue from a
licensed veterinarian will be sent to Seller. Buyer
may elect to receive a replacement puppy/dog from
the next available litter, or receive a refund of
the half the sale price. Puppy/dog shall be returned
in the same manner in which it was picked up, unless
Seller agrees to an alternate mode of
transportation. If it is the opinion of a licensed
Veterinarian that the puppy/dog should be
euthanized, Seller will receive evidence from a
licensed Veterinarian that puppy/dog has been
euthanized before a replacement pup is given.
8.
Buyer agrees that the puppy will reside at the home
of the Buyer, have access to a fenced yard, not be
chained or tethered, and will be provided with
proper housing, a good quality diet, annual shots
and exercise. Buyer also agrees that this puppy/dog
will not be used as a guard dog for any business.
9.
This Agreement is made and signed by both parties to
insure the well-being and protection of this
puppy/dog. If the Buyer breaches any part of this
Agreement, the Seller is released from any
obligations under this Agreement.
10.
The sole remedy for breach of warranty will
exclusively be replacement of the puppy purchased
with a puppy of equal value or refund Purchaser’s
money in full at the sole discretion of the Seller.
In no event shall damages of any kind be
awarded for the purchaser’s incidental or
consequential damages.
11.
No proceedings shall be instituted arising out of
this contract unless written notice is delivered by
Buyers/co-owners to Sellers/owners within 12 months
of the date of this agreement, which notice shall
specify the grounds upon which Buyers assert their
claim, and give Sellers reasonable opportunity to
respond and offer to cure the alleged breach, if
appropriate.
12.
If any dispute arises between the parties, binding
arbitration will be used to resolve any problems or
disagreements between the Buyer and Seller.
Exclusive venue and jurisdiction shall lie with
Medina
County, State of Ohio.
This Agreement is nontransferable and is governed by
the laws of the state of Ohio.
